Liza Swaving works as a freelance curator and researcher on cross-disciplinary projects for museums, cultural platforms and (online) journals and magazines. She is currently a Programer at the RCMC. She was previously a Research Associate at Rijksmuseum Volkenkunde, where she critically explored collecting and preserving digital heritage in ethnographic museums.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies and a Master’s degree in Museum Curating of the VU University Amsterdam. During her studies she developed an interest in theories of representation and authenticity in relation to visual media and museum displays.

What she likes doing most is transforming ideas into successful events and writing such as exhibitions, workshops, lectures, articles and online publications. With these projects she aims to creatively engage readers and visitors with developments in art and culture.
