Slavery past

KETI KOTI TALKS: Perspectives on the Slavery Past and its Afterlife is a series of short lectures presented during Keti Koti that explore the link between the Dutch slavery past and current structures of power, exclusion, and inequality.

In concert with Keti Koti - the Emancipation Day (end of slavery) in Suriname - the Tropenmuseum will organise an annual distinguished public lecture and debate around the theme of Slavery, Colonialism and Their Afterlives within Contemporary Dutch Society.

The symposium A Shared History: Conversations on the Slavery Past in the Present was a daylong event which brings together diverse stakeholders including academics, artists, activists as well communities of interest.
