"Raíces de la Memoria: Historia Mapuche en Primer Plano" invita a los participantes a conectarse con las historias de migración Mapuche a través de un programa vespertino de conferencias, literatura y proyección de películas. El programa profundiza en la creación de la actual exposición del Wereldmuseum Leiden, "Mapuche", y ofrece un espacio para discutir sus temas centrales: fotografía, memoria y la escritura de la historia. "Raíces de la Memoria: Historia Mapuche en Primer Plano"promueve una reflexión sobre cómo se han escrito y representado las historias indígenas en el pasado, y cómo los enfoques de diáspora y género pueden ofrecer caminos interesantes para revitalizarlas. A través del compartir de viajes individuales y colectivos, este programa brinda una valiosa oportunidad para entender más a fondo la historia y los desafíos actuales que enfrenta el pueblo Mapuche, así como en el papel que desempeña la cultura visual en este proceso.

"Rooted Memories: Mapuche Histories in Focus" invites participants to connect with Mapuche migration histories through an afternoon program of lectures, literature and film screening. The program delves deeper into the making of the current Wereldmuseum Leiden exhibition ''Mapuche'' and offers a platform for discussing its core topics: photography, memory and history writing. "Rooted Memories: Mapuche Histories in Focus" sparks a discussion on the way indigenous histories have been written and represented in the past and how frameworks on diaspora and gender can provide exciting paths to breathe new life into them. Through the sharing of individual and collective journeys, this program thus provides a valuable opportunity to deepen the understanding on the history and current challenges faced by the Mapuche people and the role visual culture plays in this process.

La Fundación FOLIL, cuyo nombre significa "raíz" en mapudungun (idioma del pueblo mapuche), fue creada el 17 de marzo de 2000 por un grupo de mapuches residentes en los Países Bajos, en su mayoría refugiados políticos que llegaron al país tras ser perseguidos durante la dictadura militar de Pinochet, que gobernó entre 1973 y 1990. Uno de los principales objetivos de FOLIL, es informar a la sociedad holandesa y europea sobre la situación social y política actual del Pueblo Mapuche, tanto en Chile como en Argentina. De igual manera FOLIL provee apoyo moral, material y financiero a las organizaciones Mapuche principalmente ubicadas en Chile, a través del trabajo conjunto con otras organizaciones Mapuche y europeas. Los fundadores de FOLIL son la Familia Railaf Zúñiga, y los representantes de FOLIL son María y Rafael Railaf Zúñiga.

Stichting FOLIL Mapuche, whose name means "root" in Mapudungun (the language of the Mapuche people), was established on March 17, 2000, by a group of Mapuche residents in the Netherlands, most of whom were political refugees who fled persecution during Pinochet’s military dictatorship, which ruled from 1973 to 1990.
One of FOLIL's main objectives is to inform Dutch and European society about the current social and political situation of the Mapuche people in both Chile and Argentina. FOLIL also provides moral, material, and financial support to Mapuche organizations, mainly in Chile, by working in collaboration with other Mapuche and European organizations. The founders of FOLIL are the Railaf Zúñiga family, with María and Rafael Railaf Zúñiga serving as the representatives of the foundation.
