
Dr. Wessie Ling is Reader in Fashion Studies at Northumbria University, United Kingdom. In 2018, she is ASEAN Research Fellow at the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia (RILCA) at Mahidol University (Bangkok). Her research focuses on Chinese, more recently inter-East Asian and trans-Asian fashion. Her latest book is a co-edited volume on Fashion in Multiple Chinas: Chinese Styles in the Transglobal Landscape (IB Tauris, 2018). Her current research examines the transglobal connection and cultural significance of the China laundry bag intertwining with socio-cultural history, ethnography and fashion studies. In 2018/9, she is a Rita Bolland Fellow at the RCMC for two months.
