CO VID PRO #2 is a series of autonomous video works in and around (the depot of) the Wereldmuseum by (mainly) Rotterdam makers and performers. In the videos the makers are introduced, diving into their relation to the objects of our museum and their experiences in the depot. The videos show the new works they have made in response, the personal stories they have connected to the collections and the ways in which they continue to reverberate in the (practices of) the present. The project focuses on individual interpretations and personal stories. The RCMC and Wereldmuseum have provided access to our museum and depot and made space for the makers to let their own vision and experience take form. We offer a platform for multivocality, for artistic activations that showcase how the objects in our depot can come to life in many different ways, to show how heritage and inheritances live through in all of us and continue to shape the present.
EXTENDED FAMILY PROJECT | 2021
In Rotterdam we have created a long-term programme to collaborate with makers/partners that share our social engagement and with whom we feel a conceptual connection, our Extended Family. This year, as part of this project, the Extended Family, we have been working with Tjon Rockon from GrandeLoge and OPEN Rotterdam on the collaborative video project CO VID PRO #2.
